Loading speed is essential to having a truly excellent website and giving your visitors an experience they’ll remember. We are committed to maintaining strong site speed and performance for you and your visitors.
In an effort to make loading speeds even faster, this latest release contains behind-the-scenes improvements to the order in which site components load so it will be faster for your visitors. Go visit your site and see how it feels!
Tip: If your site still feels slow, it may be because your images aren’t sized properly for the web. We recommend resizing your horizontal images to ~100k and vertical images to ~50k to ensure that each page of your portfolio loads quickly. To learn more about image sizing watch the short image sizing video on our new support site.
It’s all about style. Your liveBooks site has been created to uniquely convey your brand and your work and whenever we can we want to continue to enhance your ability to differentiate your site from others in the market. All sites are set with a standard set of default loaders but in this release we have created a library of graphics that allow you to change these items from directly in the editSuite.

Create additional personalization for your site by trying out these new options.
Intuitive navigation is a key to ensuring your visitors have a good experience on your website. The new navigation options in this release give you the ability to have manually advanced thumbnails or the current automatic scrolling thumbnails. Depending on your package and the size of your images (750x500 pixels versus 920x562 pixels), the new thumbnail navigation will appear vertically on the right-hand side or horizontally across the bottom of your site.

If your images are 750x500 pixels, the navigation remains on the right side of your site.

If your images are larger (920x562 pixels), this navigation appears as a tabbed panel that comes up from the bottom.
Changing your navigation style is a new upgrade option. There is a one-time fee of $95 associated with making this switch. Please contact support and we will make this change for you.
Sharing content with both existing and prospective clients is an important part of any business. This could include downloadable pricing sheets, customer slideshows or even the posting of image galleries after a shoot. Now you can enjoy more flexibility in uploading files via FTP.
Improvements include:

Give it a try! Log into editSuite and click on “FTP” in the “Edit Content” tab. Choose a file type, click the “Upload” button and use the “FTP Upload” dialog to find and upload as many files as you want.
Automatic Portfolio Slideshows
Do you wish that visitors could see a complete portfolio without having to click to advance through it? Do you get requests from people to watch a slideshow of your work?

Now these choices are totally up to you! With automatic slideshows you can select which portfolios you want to autoplay in slideshow mode and which you want to leave in manual mode all from within the editSuite.
Just access the “Options” area within the portfolios section of your “lightBox” and you will be on your way.
Your website is only as good as what people are able to see. This means that resizing your images prior to upload is essential to creating a good website. While we still recommend using Adobe Photoshop® to optimize your images for the web, we have also made some improvements to the way our “Resize Images on Upload” checkbox works within the “Upload Images” module. Now when you select this button prior to uploading your images you can feel confident that in a pinch images will be sized to work optimally for web viewing.
To give it a try, go to “Upload Images” in the “Edit Content” tab and be sure to check the "Resize Images on Upload" box at the bottom before clicking the “Upload” button.

Note: this is a generic application of sizing so if you do this we recommend you review the images after upload to ensure that they meet your quality requirements. In most cases they should but depending on image complexity and composition you may find you want to do a few yourself as well.
Afraid of overwriting the look-and-feel of your site? Never fear! We’ve added a new way to allow you to experiment with menu page areas of your site while still having the option to return to the original look and feel that you designate as your Master Design.

Now for all uploadable menu pages you have the option to ask us to set a single page as your default master page. We will upload any page that we design for you such as a homepage, contact page, etc into this area. If you are doing your own design or have an existing site that you want implemented as your master design, please contact support and we will upload your content into the Master/Original image area of your editSuite.
Now you can enjoy the freedom to experiment with color changes without losing your original color selection. We have added “Reset” buttons to the “Splash Text” and “Loading Indicator Colors” options as a way to allow you to revert completely from a series of changes back to the colors that you originally started with.

The “Reset” color button is now available for the following style options:
It’s a brand new shopping experience! Now you can enjoy greater control of how you sell your images.
Just launching your Shopping Cart? It’s easy! Set up pricing and shipping groups and then assign them to entire portfolios or individual images.
