For existing clients this means that as summer ends and the busy Fall photography season begins, they will have additional features that allow them to further customize the look and feel of their website. Moreover, all liveBooks clients are automatically upgraded to this enhanced feature-set at no additional cost. For potential clients this release delivers added flexibility to website styling and enhances the unique experience that a liveBooks site will deliver. Overall, these feature upgrades represent liveBooks’ continued commitment to streamlining a photographer’s digital workflow by delivering innovative, online solutions to enhance a photographer’s brand while allowing more time to focus on creating great photographs.

With the availability of Summer 2007, liveBooks customers will enjoy a more robust feature-set including enhanced design flexibility and customization; a broader selection of site and image loading graphics; two choices of thumbnail navigation; and a more streamlined workflow process for quick additions to their website. In addition, liveBooks has added Master Pages which remain unchanged when exploring other design opportunities; and enhancements to the current FTP and shopping cart features.

Enhanced Design Flexibility and Customization
Every liveBooks website is created to uniquely convey a photographer’s brand while at the same time delivering control of the site content directly to the photographer. This release includes several new features that further empower the photographer to customize the aesthetic of their website. In addition to the custom design work created by liveBooks’ in-house design team, liveBooks has added a new library of graphics that allow users to change loading graphics directly from the website’s editSuite. For example, photographers can choose from 10 site loading indicators and 3 image loading indicators for greater customization. Another flexibility option is auto-slideshow. Photographers can now set portfolios to automatically play in slideshow mode per portfolio through settings within the editSuite lightBox.

Finally, new navigation options give photographers the ability to opt for either manually advanced thumbnails or the current automatic scrolling thumbnails. In the end, these new features result in greater control, freedom and flexibility for photographers to create a website that is unique and a reflection of their individual style.

Streamlined Workflow in a Pinch
The ability to quickly and easily resize images prior to uploading is essential to creating an attractive and quick-responding website. liveBooks has made some improvements to the “Upload Images” module. Now, if they are in a pinch, photographers can select the “Resize Images on Upload” button prior to uploading their images. Using this enhanced feature images will be automatically sized to load quickly for efficient web viewing. liveBooks still recommends using a professional image editing tool such as Adobe Photoshop® as the best way to optimize images for the web.

Design Safety and Security
Often photographers hire a designer or use the in-house design team at liveBooks to create their homepage and other menu pages within their website. If, however, they want to experiment with new designs liveBooks has now created a way to designate each page with a “master” state so the photographer maintains the ability to update and change their pages as often as they like with the flexibility to always revert to the “master” design. This capability now also exists when setting “splash text” color and “loading indicator” colors via the use of a “reset” button. This gives photographers the ability to experiment with new color changes while being able to revert back to the original color selection to begin over if they wish.

Enhanced FTP and Shopping Cart Features
Sharing content with both existing and prospective clients is an important part of any business. This could include downloadable pricing sheets, customer slideshows or even the posting of image galleries after a shoot. Now photographers can enjoy more flexibility in uploading files via FTP with the ability to quickly upload files up to 300MB and multiple files at once.

With the enhanced liveBooks Shopping Cart, photographers also have greater control of how they sell their images online. The shopping cart feature now includes the ability to assign unique prices to each portfolio and to override pricing for individual images quickly and easily; use PayPal for automatic processing or set-up for notification directly via email for processing themselves; and easily identify which images have been put up “for sale.”

Availability and Pricing
The “summer 2007” release is available immediately to all liveBooks clients and anyone purchasing a new liveBooks package. All features are automatically delivered to existing clients and can be accessed by visiting their personal liveBooks editSuite. For those customers looking to take advantage of the liveBooks shopping cart there is a one-time add-on fee for the inclusion of this feature in their site. Additionally, if an existing liveBooks client would like to change their navigation style there is a one-time service-fee for this change.
