Ex-Adobe and AOL Executives Add Depth, Experience and Know-How to Web-based Image Portfolio and Marketing Management Software Company
San Francisco, CA. – October 31, 2006 – LiveBooks, Inc., the leading provider of editable portfolio websites for professional photographers, has announced the appointment of Tricia Gellman Holmes to Vice President of Marketing and Wes Riggins to Vice President of Channel & Business Development. The new appointments are the latest in a series of strategic additions to the company’s growing list of industry experts to help the company build strategic alliances and increase its existing client base of professional photographers, artists, agencies, galleries and photography students.
Tricia Gellman Holmes has over 14 years of experience working in the Creative Professionals marketplace including 9 years in product marketing and market development at Adobe Systems, Inc. As Director of Marketing at Adobe Tricia was responsible for the successful market development efforts for Adobe InDesign and the marketing of the Adobe Creative Suite. Prior to joining Adobe she worked in marketing and evangelism at Apple Computer and held several roles building small design and production companies in the Washington DC area.
Wes Riggins has more than 25 years of sales, marketing and product management experience including 15 years at Eastman Kodak Company. Wes left Kodak for the startup Medior Inc., an early multimedia, e-commerce development company as Director of Business Development. After Medior was acquired by AOL he helped start Digital City, a pioneering web-based city guide joint venture between Tribune Media and AOL. While working at AOL he led the business and product marketing efforts and served as AOL and Digital City’s Director for community based e-commerce products.
Andy Patrick, President and CEO of LiveBooks, Inc. believes that putting the right team of professionals together is based on two critical elements – experience and passion. “It’s obvious that both Tricia and Wes bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to liveBooks but what really makes them special, and a perfect fit for our company, is their passion,” explains Mr. Patrick. “Over the last two years we have been carefully building a team of professionals who not only understand the market and our customers, but who have a passion for photography and developing marketing tools we know will help photographers become more successful. Adding Tricia and Wes to our team is an enormous step in that direction,” Mr. Patrick added.
“It isn’t often you find a company filled with people who share the same passion as yourself,” says Tricia Gellman Holmes. “The capability of the Internet to deliver rich online experiences is very exciting and liveBooks has created an elegant and sophisticated solution to meet their customer needs. When you combine a passionate team with a great product and a start-up environment which allows me to help build something from the ground up, the decision for me to come to liveBooks was actually an easy one to make,” concluded Ms Holmes.
“The ability of photography and the Internet to impact the world captured my imagination during different periods of my life and I have been fortunate enough to marry the two throughout most of my professional career,” says Wes Riggins. “liveBooks combines these two disciplines and the opportunity to work in a fun and dynamic environment with creative and passionate people is something that simply doesn’t present itself everyday.”
As Vice President of Marketing, Tricia Gellman Holmes will be responsible for attracting new customers and demonstrating value to the existing supporters and customers of liveBooks. This will include among other things the development of a comprehensive communication and brand strategy including advertising, PR, relationship marketing and the management of liveBooks.com. Tricia will also work closely with industry associations and partners to craft programs that bring value to the photography community.
As Vice President of Business Development, Wes Riggins will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships and identifying new opportunities in vertical sectors of the market including education. Under the guidance of Wes Riggins, liveBooks recently introduced LiveBooks|edu which was designed to help students learn the importance of leveraging the Internet to gain exposure for their work, a key skill required to succeed after graduating. The program brings professional quality tools to students (and faculty) in a way that is accessible for emerging professionals and in some cases costs as little as $29.00 per month.
