The liveBooks mission statement states: “As a company we will model the quality of corporate responsibility we want to see in the world by conducting business with great professional integrity, and considering our clients, employees, shareholders and the environment as equal partners in our success.”
One of the ways we are moving forward toward fulfilling our mission is to donate the design and production of websites that contribute to creating a world where peace and justice prevail through nonviolent methods.

The About Face project is a traveling exhibition and book. Photographer John Russo, a liveBooks user, began this project as a way to expose the raw beauty of individuals. Using a Type 55 Polaroid film and posing all the models and actors in the exact same way the imagery creates an equal playing field for all of the images. "Initially, I sought subjects whose looks were, to me, aesthetically pleasing. I researched models that I thought possessed a unique beauty, whether it was a strong Roman nose, full lips or intense eyes," says Russo.
About Face is schedule for release in its current male only series in late 2007. In the future he plans to also shoot the same type of series with hollywood women. Russo will be donating a percentage of the profits from the project to The Smile Train, a charity dedicated to helping children with facial deformaties.
