Position Overview:

Help us build the newest, most relevant community for professional photographers world-wide. The Social Media Editor/Producer will be responsible for reinforcing and enhancing the relevancy of liveBooks in the photography community via the development and distribution of content throughout various Social Media vehicles. Through collaboration with the executive team, company staff and industry contributors, this individual will be responsible for the creation and implementation of a Social Media strategy for the company including content development in the forms of text, video and audio to be shared via corporate blogs, Facebook, MySpace, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Social Media strategy resulting in increased brand awareness and relevance in the photography market
  • Create editorial calendar for all content related to strategy implementation
  • Oversee efforts for grassroots messaging and content placement on social media outlets as defined in strategy such as: blogs, message boards, social networks, video upload hubs, etc.
  • Manage all relationships, assignments and content from contributors
  • Collaborate with executive team and key employees to develop relevant stories ideas and content direction
  • Work directly with photographers, consultants and industry leaders to creative unique content including text stories, podcasts and videos
  • Act as editor of all content mixing self-created content, contributed content and borrowed content to achieve consistent tone of voice and regular entries within various social media vehicles
  • Monitor community activity for appropriate online behavior as well as observing and reporting common behavior patterns

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically
  • Proven track record for delivering results with the ability to multi-task and self-manage in a fun, fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
  • Proven ability to independently drive a complex project involving a mixture of local and remote teams
  • Strong attention to detail, solid project management skills and good follow-through
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be well versed in social media outlets, consumer engagement and nuances of each
  • Creative and innovative with a passion and enthusiasm for advanced social technologies, building community and fostering new relationships
  • First hand experience working in a creative market such as photography, animation, architecture, design, etc a plus, desire to learn more about these markets is requirement

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years providing editorial as a contributor or staff journalist in a news oriented environment
  • Minimum of 2 years experience managing editorial staff or contributors to coordinate and deliver an online or offline publication
  • More than 3 years of direct experience in leading content development for blogging, forums, widgets, etc.
  • BA/BS degree in journalism or marketing communications preferred
  • Writing samples should be supplied as part of application
