Position Overview:
At liveBooks, great design is central to the success of our company. This is an opportunity to work in a progressive design environment where your clients are other creative professionals, not banks or car dealerships. The world’s best photographers choose to work with liveBooks, and making a site that compliments their work is an especially rewarding challenge. The ideal candidate has an innovative, contemporary design aesthetic, and excellent client communication skills.
Flash Designers should seek to be aware of current web design trends and be able to cite pertinent influences and sources of inspiration and actively participate in weekly meetings in which the design team circulates new ideas and suggestions on keeping the liveBooks brand on the cutting edge. These regular meetings serve as a forum to review and critique the latest work being done by all members of the Design team and to use our collective perspective to celebrate successes, address challenges, and make suggestions for future improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with clients regarding their vision for custom flash work
- Maintain an acceptable level of output as determined by the Design Manager
- Use Salesforce.com to document the progress of each client project
- Stay up to date on current flash design trends and techniques
- Participate in weekly design meetings by bringing new ideas and perspective to share with the team
Requirements:
- Cutting Edge visual design skills
- Proficient with Apple and the Adobe CS3 Suite
- Intermediate ActionScript 2.0+ skills
- Good with both timeline and ActionScript animations
- Must know how to pull content dynamically (text, images, etc) into Flash
- Creating dynamic menus a huge plus
- Familiar with creating variables, functions, pre-loaders and arrays
- XML knowledge (as it pertains to Flash) is a plus
- Custom Flash video experience is a plus (streaming and/or progressive)
- Good at optimizing SWF files for both low file size and optimal processor performance
- Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Extraordinary attention to detail
- Excellent organization skills with regard to files, code, etc.
