Renowned and internationally published photographer Louis Gabriel reveals the very simple truths behind what is truly needed to create photographs that are stunning enough to appeal to mass audiences. Using his own experiences as an example, Louis proves that it's how a photographer thinks - and not merely what he or she knows - that plays an important factor in how his or her photographs will turn out. He also shares simple but valuable advice regarding such topics as preparation for a fashion/glamour shoot and the equipment needed, finding models and makeup artists, post editing, building a solid portfolio and much more.
About Louis
Louis is a classically-trained pianist, professional acoustic guitarist and a landscape/still life oil painter. He chose to take up photography only as a minor hobby after having been persuaded to do so by his sister-in-law, then an amateur photographer herself.
Beginning in 1992, Louis was mentored in the Zone System and other basic fundamentals of photography by friend Rolf Mendez. Rolf was a veteran photographer and former television and motion picture cameraman, who began his career working as an assistant to the great Ansel Adams.
Louis is known in the photographers' circles for his unique lighting effects and colorful "retro chic" style of photography. He credits George Hurrell, Andre de Dienes and Rolf Armstrong as the artists who most influenced his work.
